LOVATO Electric presents two major new solutions for energy management and monitoring: a new generation of widescreen LCD color display network analyzers and EASY BRANCH, the innovative multi-circuit measurement system designed for quick and easy wiring of multi-point electrical panels. These two new solutions herald a new approach to energy management: a fully connected, centralized and highly simplified system.
The heart of the system is the new DMG family... of network analyzers. The large-screen (4.3") widescreen LCD color display ensures clear and readable reading of network analysis parameters, while retaining the classic cropping template (92x92mm) to ensure seamless compatibility with standard front-panel solutions. Measurements are displayed as graphs of waveforms, polar charts, and harmonic spectra up to order 63, thus providing everything needed to analyze the state of the system.
One of the outstanding features of the DMG family... is smart programming. NFC technology makes it possible to configure and set parameters, even when the device is not powered: just download the LOVATO NFC app to your device. from the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). All parameters can be configured and set with our easy-to-use programming software.
With their wide range of communication options, DMG's network analyzers... can be integrated into energy surveillance systems to provide a comprehensive analysis of all vectors. Available with integrated RS485 and Ethernet ports, these new tools can be expanded with up to 3 EXP modules. to add additional inputs, outputs, and communication ports.
The option to combine digital and analog inputs allows field parameters such as gas and water consumption, liquid tank levels, temperature, pressure and more to be integrated into the system, thus providing complete energy management. All measurements are highly accurate and certified for compliance with international standards for measuring instruments, including: IEC/EN/BS 62053-22 (class 0.5s), IEC/EN/BS 62053-24 (class 1) and IEC/EN/ BS 61557-12 (class 0.5).
DMG... power analyzers, with their integrated PLC logic, also offer simple timed automation as well as the logical combination of reference points and digital inputs to control signal outputs, among other things. Finally, DMG8000 and DMG9000 models can also act as web servers, for:
- setting all parameters not only from the front panel of the case, but also from any browser;
- saving the measured data in their internal memory;
- representation of measured values in graphical and tabular form.
This innovative product also features: programmable LEDs on the front panel, 10 interface languages, IP65 degree of protection and an optical port on the rear panel for firmware update and connection to programming software.
- Widescreen colour LCD : The large size of the colour LCD (4.3") allows for the optimal view of measures and parameters in a clear, simple and intuitive way.
- 10 languages : The language shown can be selected from a large number of choices: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Czech, Chinese..
- Programmable leds : 3 front LEDs are programmable and let the user know the status of the device at any time: alarms programmed by the user, status of digital inputs or outputs, emission of pulses indicating energy consumption, communication in progress.
- NFC configuration : Thanks to NFC technology, it is possible to configure and modify parameters (even when the device is not powered) through LOVATO App, which can be downloaded for free from the App store for Android and iOS smart devices.
- Logic PLC : Thanks to the built-in PLC logic, the power analyzers can perform simple automations related to timers and alarm states and digital inputs. Programming with "contacts"(Ladder) is simple and intuitive thanks to the use of configuration software downloadable for free from the website www.lovatoelectric.com.
- High accuracy level for measurements : The measurements are verified according to the recognized international standards for measuring instruments: IEC 62053-22 (class 0.5s), IEC 62053-24 (class 1) and IEC 61557-12.
MULTI-BRANCH SYSTEM
DMG power analyzers... They are designed primarily for network analysis, but accessories can be added to allow them to measure the parameters of numerous tasks, using quick and easy cabling. In industrial and commercial applications, installing a multi-load parameter monitoring system in an electrical panel is usually a complex and laborious task.
The conventional solution consisted of installing a measuring device for each load in the field, which resulted in difficult, complex and time-consuming wiring, as well as taking up considerable space in the panel.
LOVATO Electric now offers a completely new energy measurement system that is innovative, accurate and much simpler than the conventional approach, by sharing voltage measurements and delocalizing current measurements in the vicinity of the loads themselves.
This is EASY BRANCH, the LOVATO Electric multi-circuit measurement system, a true revolution in the field of energy monitoring.
With a single data access point and the current measuring modules installed below the loads, the EASY BRANCH system offers numerous benefits.
SIMPLE: The system is composed of a small number of components added to the network analyzer, such as the EXS0000 communication bus module, EXS4 current measurement modules... and EXS1..., EXS3... electronic or conventional /5A or/1A current transformers. This means that the system can handle up to 33 three-phase measuring points or 99 single-phase measuring points! Current measurement modules do not require special wiring to the EASY BRANCH bus – a normal connection with cat cable. 6 Ethernet is all that's needed. The system architecture facilitates integration into any energy management system.
FAST: For each current measurement module (EXS4000), only one RJ45 terminal cable must be connected to obtain up to 4 three-phase measurement points or 12 single-phase measurement points, each of which is connected with an RJ45 terminal cable, thus greatly reducing the time required to connect the system.
VERY EASY TO HANDLE: Monitoring systems using conventional measuring instruments and 12 cables connected to each three-phase measurement point are prone to wiring errors (phase sequence, voltage and current matching, direction of current transformers), resulting in incorrect electrical readings and loss of time in panel commissioning. The EASY BRANCH system, with its RJ45 connections to electronic current transformers, is completely safe!
PLAG & PLAY: EXS1 electronic transformers... and EXS3..., due to their ability to automatically recognize the current module to which they are connected, eliminates the need for the installer to configure the primary of the current transformer. EXS4000 Power supply, while a LED on EXS4000 current measuring module indicates the correct coupling.
PRRECISE: The EASY BRANCH system offers excellent measurement accuracy according to IEC/EN/BS 61557-12 and IEC/EN/BS 62053-22/23.
COMPACT: The small number of devices and cables used by the system provides major savings in panel space.
EASY BRANCH SYSTEM COMPONENTS
To better understand the efficiency of the EASY BRANCH system, let's compare it with a conventional solution in the form of a practical example. If you need to measure 5 three-phase loads in an electrical panel with the EASY BRANCH system, then you need: Only 1 power analyzer, 1 EXS0000 bus module, 1 EXS4000 current measurement module, 4 three-phase electronic transformers and only 12 cables to connect everything. With a conventional system, you'll need: 5 power analyzers, 15 current transformers, and 60 cables in total. The more measuring points you need, the greater the advantages of the EASY BRANCH system!
EXS0000 Expansion Module : They are used to connect and power up to 8 current EXS4 modules....
EXS4000 : Centralizes measurements of monitored loads with EXS3 electronic current transformers... (tri/single-phase) or EXS1... (single-phase). Each module can measure up to 4 three-phase loads, 12 single-phase loads, or a combination of the two;
EXS1 Electronic Current Transformers... and EXS3... : They are current transducers with a compact, modular design, which makes them ideal for the immediate downstream installation of thermomagnetic circuit breakers. Available for single-phase and three-phase loads, they connect to the EXS4000 current measurement module with a pre-wired RJ45 cable (2 m), thus ensuring a fast and secure connection.
EXS4001 : It offers the option of connecting metering points monitored with conventional current transformers to the EASY BRANCH system, with each module handling up to 2 three-phase loads, 6 single-phase loads, or a combination of the two.
All EASY BRANCH system data is available at the central network analyzer and, through its communications port, can also be viewed remotely in any browser (DMG8000 and DMG9000 only), using Synergy monitoring software on a local server or via Synergy Cloud, if the system includes the EXCGLA01 gateway data logger.
Thanks to the compatibility with LOVATO Electric's EXCGLA01 gateway data logger, a key component for a completely modern energy monitoring system, the data acquired by field devices or environmental sensors for any type of energy vector (water, air, gas, electricity or steam) running a compatible protocol, are not only made available by the integrated web server, but can also be transmitted to LOVATO Electric's Synergy surveillance software or forwarded to remote servers in appropriate formats for further processing.
